The New England Condo Expo is Back—in Person! The Must-Attend Event Returns at Last

The New England Condo Expo is Back—in Person!

On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, board trustees, managers, building owners, and condo, HOA, and co-op residents from all over the Boston metro and throughout New England will gather at the Boston Convention Center from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the return of the in-person New England Condominium Expo. You can be a part of it as well—register for free at ne-expo.com!

Since its launch over a decade ago, the New England Condo Expo has been drawing hundreds of vendors, service providers, and industry professionals, as well as condo, HOA, and co-op residents and administrators from all over the region for a day full of networking, service-shopping, free advice, and information-rich educational seminars—all at no cost to attendees. Our move to the Boston Convention Center enables us to spread out and hold this important event on one contiguous exhibit floor in a safe, accessible facility with wider aisles and more room for exhibitors and guests alike.

The Expo is hosted by Yale Robbins Infomedia, parent company of New England Condominium magazine, and is a golden opportunity for anyone involved—or just interested—in their building’s or association’s day-to-day operations. There they can take advantage of having nearly 200 vendors and service providers, attorneys, management professionals, and a huge array of other condo- and HOA-related resources assembled under one roof. (Did we mention that it’s free to register? Just visit ne-expo.com—it’s that easy.)

Exhibitor booths, information, and demos are the heart of the Expo, but they’re certainly not the only reason to swing by the Convention Center on November 2. A full slate of relevant, well curated educational seminars and expert panels will be running all day long, giving attendees the opportunity to take master classes on a broad array of timely topics. This year’s roster of enlightening, informative presentations includes:

10:30am - 11:30am - Room 1: Marcus, Errico, Emmer & Brooks, P.C. presents Hot Topics & Legal Updates—Legislative Issues & Changes Your Board Must Know. This roundtable discussion of hot topics within associations will include handling collections, navigating ever-changing COVID regulations, smoking and marijuana, the important nuances involved with rule enforcement, and how it all may affect how your board does business - making it a must-attend for trustees and managers alike.

11:30am - 12:30pm - Room 2: FirstService Residential presents Risk Management in a Post-COVID-19 World. Attend this expert seminar to hear about risk associated with operational matters, insurance as a function of risk management, financial risks and realities, and legal factors in risk management. Attendees will walk away with key takeaways, items for discussion with fellow board members, and a better sense of risks facing their community.

12:30pm - 1:30pm - Room 1: Roof Maxx-Framingham presents Working With Contractors—Proactive Strategies for Positive Results. Maintaining key property components is a crucial part of every board’s duty to its constituents—and working cooperatively with contractors and service providers is crucial to the success of those projects. This informative seminar will draw on the expertise of an array of professionals to give boards insider tips on how to reduce the stress and financial surprises that can plague residential communities undertaking major projects. Come find out how to be more proactive when it comes to planning work, hiring contractors, and communicating more effectively, both with your fellow trustees and your chosen professionals.

1:30 pm -2:30 pm - Room 1: New England Condominium presents There’s One in Every Family—Dealing With Difficult Personalities. Even the most harmonious, tight-knit community will eventually experience interpersonal conflict, whether it be between board members, neighbors, or staff members. Come learn how industry pros deal with ‘difficult’ personalities in a multifamily context while staying positive, productive, and professional, and what resources exist to help resolve conflict without resorting to litigation.

2:30 pm -3:30 pm - Room 2: New England Condominium presents Your Community’s Foundation—Understanding Governing Documents. Many people purchase a condo or townhome without really understanding the foundational documents that govern their community. Come learn the difference between a bylaw and a house rule, which documents residents have a right to access, and how documents can - and should - be amended as communities grow and change.

The Expo is an indispensable opportunity for attendees to learn about the latest in building services, attend valuable seminars, get free advice from legal and management experts, and more.
